Adult Client Training Service (ACTS) began in 1967 as a Day Activity Center serving clients ages 8-40. We are now a Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) center serving adults with developmental disabilities and other related conditions.
“Habilitation” means health and social services needed for physical, intellectual, emotional and social life. Like rehabilitation, habilitation can include physical, occupational, or speech therapy.
Our goal is to train and equip our individuals for useful employment and provide an environment conducive to success. We serve individuals from Renville County and the surrounding counties. We are licensed by the State of MN Department of Human Services to serve up to 50 individuals.
To be eligible as a individual at ACTS, a person must meet 4 requirements:
For people who are screened to meet all 4 eligibility criteria, DHS may pay for services. Private pay or other funding options may be available.
ACTS offers a School Transition Service which is a coordinated work/school program. Students usually attend school half a day and work at ACTS half a day. ACTS receives a variance from the Department of Human Services to serve students who are under 18 years of age.
If you know someone who could benefit from this service, please give us a call. If you have any questions, are interested in setting up a time to tour our facility, or would like to make a tax deductible donation to ACTS, please contact us.
